Our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly in the actions we take. From the moment we started our work in 2016, we understood that by working together with our adopters and sharing our information about why we do what we do, we would be able to overcome our challenges much more efficiently, and that is why we ultimately decided to launch our own website!

THE STORY OF BREADOFLIFEK9REFUGE:

13 years ago I embarked on a journey that would transform our entire path moving forward as a family. One of the greatest needs back then was for the bully breed and mixes, so I jumped at the very first opportunity to save them however I could! Talk about finding out where your heart is!! God helped me find my purpose through my work with them, something that I am grateful for every single day. My mom used to take in chickens, roosters, ducks, rabbits, birds; you name it she would take them in, foster them, care for them, and then release them to sanctuaries. She showed me compassion for other animals growing up and it led me to wanting to do the same but on a greater level, so here we are!!!!

MISSION STATEMENT:

We are a faith based, family run organization that was founded back in 2016. While we take in many dogs that make it to the adoption side, and are able to find wonderful families, there are also many that don't, so we become their forever home.

Our mission is to serve God's purpose in our lives to continue the work behind the scene of all we do here from the many hospice , abuse, neglect, and abandonment cases we take in. God's faithfulness, unwavering grace, and steady foundation in our lives has enabled us to embark on this beautiful journey to do our life's work by giving animals second chances through God's promise of a better tomorrow.

THE JOURNEY TO BECOMING A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION:

NOTHING ABOUT ME IS SELF-MADE. I OWE GOD EVERYTHING!

God's plan. God's way. If you've ever personally spoken to me on my thoughts of becoming a non profit you would know that it was something I never wanted, simply because I wanted to do things my way....

I wanted to do things my way, but to God's standards, not society's standards.

Well my plan wasn't God's plan .

And in order to meet God's standards I had to let go and let God do things His way. When you believe in God's plan then seeing His Vision becomes clear. I didn't have to see it, to believe it. I simply just had to BELIEVE. God's timing, WOW!! We had such an amazing support system believing in our vision, patiently allowing God to work through us as faithfully and abundantly as He has. For that our gratefulness will never be forgotten. As we navigate what it truly means to now be an non-profit organization we pray that anyone who believes in us will continue to follow us on our journey and support us in every endeavor God puts before us. So much more to come!! Praise God!!!

Personal Care

Deciding to do all that we do through our family has and continues to have amazing results through each and every dog's life that becomes a part of our lives. They simply become one of our own family members until they have a family all their own. They live in our home, and are part of all that we are, and do. They are able to thrive by feeling at home with us as soon as they arrive. We condition our dogs to crates inside only to offer them a safe place when and if ever needed, and to aid in house training to many who have never lived inside a home before so they can learn and thrive in a successful space as they navigate to living indoors with us.

Many shelters take in hundreds of dogs, some never knowing the true background of most all of those dogs which sadly paves the way for many failed adoptions as they place the dogs into the wrong homes time and time again. Shelter dogs live in very stressful environments, and while we wish we could save them all we are ONE family set out on a mission to save as many as we can one deserving soul at a time by opening our own doors and offering them the best possible start from beginning to end.
